Meeting opposite the Basilica of Santa Maria in Cosmedin, in piazza Bocca della Verità
We will begin with a toast to the old year with a glass of prosecco and finger food in the gardens adjacent to the beautiful temple of Hercules. We will first explore the Foro Boario, the ancient Roman cattle market, and then proceed to the Capitoline, one of the seven hills of Rome. This was the heart of the city in Republican times and home to the Temple of Jupiter.
We will climb up the Campidoglio (as it is known today in Italian), now administrative centre of Rome. Later we will descend by the Tarpean Rock, where formerly traitors were hurled down from, to piazza della Consolazione where towards midnight the traditional dish of lentils and sausages plus delicious seasonal sweets will be served and we will raise our glasses to 2020!
Participation costs: euro 37 per person
The visit will take place with a minimum of 20 people in English
